Carol's Obituary
Carol Ann Girvan, 70, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, July 8, 2024 in St. Joseph.
The family will be holding a private celebration of Carol’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of SW Michigan, www.humaneswm.org.
Carol was born March 19, 1954 in St. Joseph, MI to Floyd and Marion (Grewe) Lucker. She met and married the love of her life, Ian Girvan, on August 9, 1980 in St. Joseph, where the two have lived ever since. Carol was a true partner in marriage and became a natural doting and loving mother. She thrived as a mom, never missing an opportunity to support her boys in their sporting events; she was always there. Providing for her family was Carol’s true passion, and she showed that often through her exquisite cooking skills. She also enjoyed her time spent gardening, and never missing a chance to root for the Chicago Cubs, a true fan for decades. Carol cared for and adored her three dogs and two cats for 40+ years.
Carol will be missed by her husband of 44 years, Ian Girvan; her sons, Andrew Girvan, and Jason (Gabby) Girvan; her sister, Nancy (Steve) Habel; numerous nieces and nephews, near and abroad; and many other extended family and friends who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, James Lucker, and Joanne (Greg) Eversole; and her parents.
