Cecile May Fitz, 97, of Bainbridge Township, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the home of James & Debra Fitz. Cecile had been in her sons and daughters-in-law care since May of 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Volinia Baptist Church, 19526 Marcellus Hwy, Decatur. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions in Cecile’s name may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. Cecile was born April 21, 1924, in Cleveland, OH, to Vera (Larkman) & Edwin Williams. Cecile was above all the best at so many things. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her friends and family. Cecile was a homemaker, farmer and bookkeeper of the farms starting in 1959 until 2000. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, camera club, cards with friends, sewing and cooking.
Cecile married Edwin Gustive Fitz on October 13, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. Cecile is survived by her children, Cheryl (Jack) Albert of Cottam, Ontario, Canada, James (Debra) Fitz of Decatur and Sandy (Dave) Baird of Albuquerque, NM; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Hopp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Vera Williams; husband, Edwin Fitz; daughter, Joy Edwards; son-in-law, Jerry Edwards and brother, Clyde Williams.
