Chuck's Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Bodfish Jr. passed away on Friday February 21, 2025. Born on February 11, 1962 in Douglas Michigan to Charles and Valerie Bodfish. United in marriage to Sherry McCabe on September 19, 1981.

Visitation for Chuck will be on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan 49090 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Pastor Travis Wilson will officiate. Chuck will be laid to rest at Lee Twp. Cemetery.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 43 years Sherry, and sons Glen (Pilar) Bodfish, Terry Bodfish, Step Dad Richard Foster, and step siblings; Dave (Debbie) Foster, Rick Foster, Danny (Lisa) Foster, Karen Foster, Cindy Rasmus and Danny Rasmus. Grandchildren; Mitchell, Michael (Sylvanna), Matt, Brook, Chuckie, Jimmie, Kyle, Keke, Tete, Luis, Keandre, great granddaughter, Natalia and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by siblings Cindy (Chris) Danlz and Johnny (Melissa) Bodfish.

Chuck worked in Body Shops in South Haven and Paw Paw for over 40 years starting with his education at Vo Tech. He was part owner of the Bodfish and Sons Auto Shine for over 20 years. Chuck has over 50 trophies from having had the top car in every car show he attended with his 1987 Firebird. When not working on old cars or his pride and joy firebird, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandkids. Music was another one of his passions, especially the drums, Chuck was one of the best, and he played with some of the biggest name bands in Southwest Michigan, Direct Fire, Nite Run and Black Ice, he also wrote his own songs. Chuck was bigger than life and we will never be the same without him.
