Charles Fredric Bugiani “Charlie”, 84, of New Buffalo, Michigan, passed away February 18, 2022 at Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. CST, Friday, February 25, 2022 at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1000 Michigan Ave., LaPorte, Indiana 46350 with The Rev. Canon Michelle I. Walker officiating. Visitation will be held at the Church between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. CST. In consideration of everyone’s health, please wear a mask for both the visitation & service. Private burial with family will follow the services at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the donor’s choice. Charlie was born July 2, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Fred & Lillian (Goldsworthy) Bugiani. Charlie served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 until 1963. He worked as an Accountant for ConAgra Inc. / Armour -Swift- Eckrich for many years. His most recent employer was Barney’s Market in New Buffalo. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in LaPorte, IN where he sang in the church choir, served as Senior Warden of the vestry and helped assist the priest for mass. Charlie served on several organizations to include: Cub Scouts, The Big Brother program of Chicago, The Order of DeMolay, Free Mason’s Harbor Lodge 741 and sang with the Illinois Central Choral Group and Chicago Apollo Club Choir. Charlie enjoyed model ship- building, bicycling, kayaking, camping, hiking, yoga, walking, and being outside.
Charlie is survived by his sister Joyce Tiljak; nephew Robert (Becky) Tiljak; nieces Sharon Tiljak (Abbie) and Karen Tiljak; several cousins and dear friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and will now return home to be in heaven with his father and mother.
