B. Charlotte Stephenson, 94, of Buchanan passed away at her home in Buchanan on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel, Buchanan. Charlotte was born on August 29, 1927, to Harry and Ida (Oliver) Banke in Buchanan. She married Howard W. Stephenson on August 29, 1981, he preceded her in death in 2002. Charlotte and Howard were both employed by Associates Financial Services in South Bend and then transferred to work and live in Denver, Colorado. Shortly after Howard’s passing, Charlotte returned to reside in Buchanan.
Charlotte had a wonderful smile and infectious laugh. She lived life passionately and enjoyed dancing, dominoes, reading, politics, good food and being surrounded by her furry friends. She also loved the Lord and was a devout Christian.
Charlotte is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ida Banke; husband, Howard Stephenson and siblings, Clarice Sprawl, Henry Banke, Robert Banke, Ralph Banke, Jack Banke and Frederick Banke.
