Cheryl's Obituary
Born on April 6, 1967, in Tacoma, Washington, Cheryl was raised in Dowagiac, Michigan, where she lived for 54 years. She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1985 and built a life filled with family, love, and unforgettable memories.
Those who knew Cheryl will remember her as a strong-willed, outspoken, and bold woman whose unique sayings and big smile could light up a room. She had a gift for making people laugh and a heart for helping others whenever she could. Her determination and drive made her truly unforgettable and deeply loved.
Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing cards and board games, dancing, singing, traveling, and dining out with her daughter, grandson, and fiancé. She loved cheering on her favorite football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame, and found joy in crocheting beautiful blankets, working on crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite TV shows.
She is survived by her loving daughter LaQuita (Anthony) Gary, cherished grandson Zayden Gary, devoted fiancé Erick Curry, dear big sister Karen Frazier, and niece Skyla Vaughn. Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved son, Xzavier McFarland, and her parents, Charlene (Curry) and Engram Joe Frazier.
A service to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at House of Prayer Community, 63563 Brick Church Road, Cassopolis, Michigan. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac, Michigan. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, Dowagiac. Cheryl will be remembered as “a real one”—a woman of strength, laughter, and love. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
