Connie was born November 17, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Vincent & Vivian (Lange) Munson. On December 6, 1975 she married the love of her life, Gene Kiger, in Berrien Springs. Their home was always welcome to any guest at any time. Together they had a family farm in which they would sell their homegrown produce at the farmer’s market in Evanston, IL. Connie was also an active 4-H leader. During her time with 4-H she would show off her skills in sewing, wood carving, gardening, leatherwork, cooking, and many other things. Connie worked most of her life, later retiring, from Silverbrook Nursing Home as HR manager. She then went back to work at Harding’s in Berrien Springs as a cashier that led her to meet many new people and gain friendships along the way. In her spare time, she enjoyed house projects, specifically painting, and keeping her yard and garden up to par. She was quite famous for her flowers in the neighborhood. Although, her favorite thing to do in her spare time was to be with her family. She loved to wake up at 5 A.M. to cook Thanksgiving dinner and have all her loved ones over to enjoy her famous pumpkin pie. Connie was more than proud to be a Mom and Nana to more than just her children and grandchildren. Most that knew her called her by either of those names.

Connie is survived by her daughter Julie (Rick) Vernengo; son Mark (Betsey) McCray; grandchildren Bailey Capron, Lauren Capron, Cameron (Cheyenne) McCray, Mason McCray, Ethan (Teagan) Rogers, Lindsey (Chase) Miller and Macie (Robert) Wagner; great grandchildren Robert, Byron, Koulsen, Lani, Isla, Renleigh and Boone; and sister Carol Crawford. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Michael McCray.
