Marcia's Obituary
Marcia Krueger, 82, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her home in Decatur. She was born September 29, 1940 in Decatur, MI to Edward and Elizabeth (Keeney) Vliek.
The family will receive guests from 10am until time of celebration of life service at 1pm, Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur. Inurnment of Marcia and Bob will follow at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the VFW Women’s Auxillary – Post 6248, 560 N. Marcia will be remembered as the true definition of a caregiver. Her selfless, caring nature was a driving force behind her decision over the years to care for many family members, as well as exchange students and other close friends. It also was a quality she used in her professional career, which spanned many years as a receptionist for various local doctors and dentists. Marcia was very social, and enjoyed keeping herself busy, especially when it came to taking care of those she loved. Lake life was an important part of her identity, whether it was water skiing in her younger years, or enjoying big family get togethers at the lake in the summer. She truly did enjoy the simple things in life, and she will be missed by all who loved her.
Marcia is survived by her sons, Kevin (Trina Lee) Christensen, and Kyle (Sandi) Christensen; her grandchildren, Michael (Korina) Christensen, Danielle (Trevor) DeLabarre, Shelby Christensen, and Jordan Christensen; her great grandchildren, Waverly, Harper, Maddie, Noel, Johanna, Raelynn, and Theo; her sister, Evelyn (Sonny) Stambek; and her brother-in-law, Iggy Krueger.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Krueger, whom she married August 23, 1974 in Decatur; her siblings, Edward Vliek, and Elaine Overley; and her parents.
