Dale's Obituary
Dale Harold Ray, 76, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on January 23, 2025, in his home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
Dale was born on July 28, 1948 in Logansport, IN, to the late Lewis E. Ray, II and Mary Alice (Grusenmeyer) Ray.
Dale was a graduate of Purdue University, School of Agriculture, and then immediately served his country in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, he had a long and successful career in the canning industry with Crown Cork & Seal.
Dale is survived by daughter – Alison (Paul) Ray of Perrysburg, OH and son – Matt Ray of Seattle, WA; granddaughter – Elizabeth Kobler; sister-in-law Leona Ray of Monticello, IN; several nieces; and dear friend – Becky Radenheimer and her daughters – Rachael and Raegan. He is preceded in death by brothers Jan Ray and Lewis E. Ray, III, and sister-in-law Edna M. Ray.
Over the years, Dale enjoyed many hobbies including computer programming in the ‘80s, photography, woodworking, sailing, and golf. After his children had grown, Dale started to travel the world with Becky. He enjoyed planning and documenting each trip, probably almost as much as the trips themselves. Dale also enjoyed spending time with his favorite granddaughter Elizabeth.
Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport, IN.
