Debra's Obituary

Debra Ellen Merrell, 56, of South Haven passed away early on June 15, 2024. Debra was born September 8, 1967 in South Haven, Michigan to Irving and Pearl Goldberg. She was united in marriage to Kevin Merrell on April 2nd, 1994. Debra took great pride in her children and was a loving mother.

Debra is survived by her husband of 30 years, Kevin, son Nathaniel (Aubrey) Merrell, daughter Abigail Merrell. She is also survived by her brother Paul (Stephanie) Goldberg, sisters-in-law Ruth Goldberg and Angie Barner, mother-in-law Nona Merrell, nephews Andrew (Jessia) Goldberg, and Andrew Barner, as well as nieces Jennifer (William) Johnson, Amanda Goldberg, and Grace (Corey) Stejskal, great nephews, and many loving cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents Irving and Pearl Goldberg, brother Jeff Goldberg, and father-in-law Clarence Merrell.

Debra graduated from South Haven High School in 1985. She worked at Value Drugs/Moore Family Pharmacy for 39 years, touching many lives and making many friends. Family and friends were the most important things in Debra’s life and she will be greatly missed by her community and all those who knew her.

Visitation for Debra will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at the Filbrandt Chapel Funeral Home, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan 49090. Debra will be laid to rest in the First Hebrew Congregational Cemetery in South Haven Michigan.
