Donald (Don) August Meyer, 81, of Benton Harbor, MI., passed away on May 17, 2022 at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 27, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085. Friends may visit with family on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Memorial donations may be made to Boystown. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com
Don was born June 3, 1940 in Benton Harbor, MI to August and Olga (Sommerfelt) Meyer. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School and continued his education at Lake Michigan College. Don worked at Clark Equipment, served four years in the US Navy and predominantly worked as a realtor. In his free time, he enjoyed Lionel trains, listening to music, watching westerns and action movies. He was a member of the bicycle club in Three Oaks, the golf team with Clark Equipment and loved dancing. Don was very handy and would fix anything. His favorite was spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his sons; Don (Gretchen Evans) Meyer and Tom Meyer, grand-children; Jordon Meyer, Zachary Meyer, Nicholas (Priya) Evans, great grand-children; Ariya Evans and Alexa Evans, niece and nephews Doug, Marcie and Don Needles and his best friend Marie Burnell. He was preceded by his parents, wife Millie and his sister Helen Needles.
