Donna's Obituary
Donna J. Swisher, 96, of Eau Claire, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 3, at 12 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Wade Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle Hospice. Donna was born on February 9, 1928, in Benton Harbor to Phillip & Gladys (Tessman) Pullins. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1946, and shortly after graduation on September 7, Donna married the love of her life Loren Swisher. The two were happily married for 67 years prior to his passing in 2013. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, Donna was an active member of the Century Club, where she would meet new people and make lifelong friendships. She also enjoyed trying her luck on slot machines, as well as crocheting and knitting various items for family and friends. However, what gave her the most joy was spending time with her family.
Donna is survived by her sons, Loren (Janet) Swisher of Millburg, Steve Swisher of Eau Claire, and Mark Swisher of Desert Palms, CA; daughter, Sue Champion of Coloma; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip & Gladys; loving husband, Loren; brothers, Phillip, Jr., George and Ron Pullins; and son-in-law, Brady Champion.
