Edwin Hernandez, 34, of Kalamazoo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, December 23, 2025, in Kalamazoo, MI.
He was born on July 18, 1991, in Holland, MI.
Edwin was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was an innovator, fighter, and entrepreneur; and left this earth at such a young age. Edwin will be remembered for his love of cooking and his dream of becoming a chef, which he pursued at KVCC Culinary Arts. He enjoyed playing video games and was good at woodworking. A true chatterbox and the life of the party, his joy and energy will never be forgotten. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him and will remain in their hearts.
Surviving are his father, Pablo Hernandez; mother, Maria L Hernandez; siblings, Luis C. Hernandez, Marimar Hernandez, and Pablo Hernandez Jr.; nieces, Melanie Carranza, Esperanza Hernandez, Kamila Hernandez, Irma Isabella Carranza, and Leila Carranza; godparents, Amparo Lopez Padron and Eleazar Lopez Padron; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Ernesto and Francisca (Navarro) Hernandez; and maternal grandparents, Rogelio and Maria (Padron) Castellano.
