Whenever I hear polka music, a smile widens across my face. Living next door, the sound of music, or the sound of tinkering in the garage, would greet us through the windows on Saturday mornings. Ernst always had a smile, a helping hand, or helpful advice on projects we had to do. He proudly shared his homemade sausage and wine, told us stories, and provided me with my first genuine German Beer Stein for my collection. We are so blessed to have our paths cross. I’m grateful he created such fond and happy memories for our family.
