Evelyn (Anttila) Chevrette went to be with her Lord and Savior in the care of Hospice on February 21, 2025 in her home at Crownpointe Assisted Living in Stevensville, MI.
Evelyn was born to Eaver and Helvi Anttila of Ishpeming, MI January 16, 1931, and grew up in North Lake Location. She graduated from Ishpeming High School. Some of her fondest memories were of her childhood in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (regarded as “God's Country”).
She married Rodney Chevrette in 1950 and they celebrated 70 years together before his passing.
Evie started her career as the head cook for Johnson Elementary School in Benton Township, MI and retired as a secretary for the Benton Harbor Area Schools Food Services.
Always grateful and blessed she was especially thankful for the wonderful friends she made at Curves in MI, FL and Peace Lutheran Church where she was a member.
