Betty's Obituary

Frances Elizabeth "Betty" Redder Jennings (Clark), 86, of Stevensville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 8, 1939, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Betty lived a life defined by compassion, creativity, and deep devotion to both her loved ones and her community.

Betty was the beloved mother of Edward Redder (Elyse), Frank Redder (Amy), Joshua Redder (Jennifer), Kristen Coffin (Philip), and Malcolm Jennings. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren—Nicholas, Katelyn, Henry, Caroline, and Bradley—and her great-grandchildren Hayden and Savannah. Betty is also survived by her dear friends, Sue and Dave Richardson, who held a special place in her heart.
Betty was predeceased by her husbands, Frank Redder and David Jennings, her brother, Edward “Ted” Clark, her son, Michael Redder, and her best friend, Robert Richardson.

A woman of faith and service, Betty was a long-time and devoted member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Her church and parish family meant the world to her, and in her final days, she was especially grateful for the loving support of Father Erik Broeren, who spent many hours by her side throughout her illness.

Betty expressed her creativity through years of work as a floral designer at Crystal Springs Florist, where her artistry brightened countless lives. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life—reading, painting, and making the occasional (and enthusiastic) trip to the casino.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in St. Joseph, MI at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel. Friends wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger .com.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network), an organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer, and the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan, honoring her compassion for both people and animals.
