Georgia's Obituary

Georgia Mae Whitright, 99, life-long resident of Saint Joseph, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Royalton Manor, Saint Joseph.

The family will receive guests from 12pm until time of funeral service at 1pm, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., Saint Joseph. Interment to follow at Spring Run Cemetery, Saint Joseph.

Georgia was born January 26, 1925 at her homestead in Saint Joseph to Walter and Alta (Bartz) Eisenhart. Georgia worked on the family farm until she met and married her husband, John Whitright. She was a very creative and talented woman; you could often find her making quilts, painting, sewing and, in her younger years, making candy houses with her children. Even though she enjoyed painting as a personal pastime, her work was so impressive she was able to eventually sell her work. She was a member of the mothers and others group whilst her children were in school; a group she enjoyed spending time with often.

Georgia will be missed by her children, Stanley (Linda) Whitright, and Susan (the late Jerry) Russell; her grandchildren, Sandi (Jason) Plumb, Lisa (Damian) Ranson, and Jennifer Whitright; and her great grandchildren, Lexie and Ian Ranson, and Hailey Whitright.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Whitright; her grandson, Johnathon Russell; her siblings, Violet Hodgson, and Miles Eisenhart; and her parents.
