Trudy's Obituary
Gertrude E. “Trudy” Russell, 78, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Corewell Health Lakeland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, with Pastor William Huges officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Trudy was born on October 31, 1946, in Benton Harbor, to George, Jr. and Virginia (Krajecki) Bush. In June of 1984, Trudy married the love of her life, Terry Russell, at South Side Church of God in Benton Harbor. Professionally, Trudy was employed with Health Company and held a variety of positions such as forklift operator, head of assembly and set-up operator. She would later work at the Food Bank, as well as Target before officially entering retirement. A passion of Trudy’s was shooting pool. Terry and she were members of both APA and Valley Pool Leagues, where they enjoyed playing pool with their friends and making new friendships along the way.
Trudy is survived by her husband of nearly 41 years, Terry; brother, George (Elizabeth) Bush III; nieces, Cathy (John Trowbridge) Schrubba; Stephine (Gene) Beshire and Stacy (Patrick) Cronk; nephews, Lee (Dina) Malone, Mark Malone, Dennis Malone, and Vance Allen (Shannon) Russell; and great-nephew, Greg (Lizzy) Schrubba. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Virgina, and sister, Rebecca Okay.
