Harriette A. West, 85, of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2024, at Woodland Terrace of Longmeadow, Niles, MI.
She was born on October 12, 1938, in Wayne Township, Cass County, Michigan, the daughter of the late Eston and Bessie (Warner) Etter. On April 7, 1956, she was united in marriage to Herbert West in Decatur, MI at the First Church of God.
Surviving are 3 children – Lee (Gail) West, Dawn (Dale) Killarney and Vicki (Larry) Ausra; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 2 sisters - Darlene Grant and Dolores Martensen; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 59 years, Herbert; son – Robert (Norma) Northrop; parents – Eston and Bessie; sister – Donna Johnson; brother – Eston Etter; and four grandchildren – Darla Northrop, Karen Ausra, Chris Ausra and Joey Ausra.
Honoring Harriette’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no public services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel - Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac.
