Al's Obituary
Al Arnold, 79, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at his home in Decatur.
The family will receive guests from 5-7pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur. A celebration of life service will be held at 11am, Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the funeral home, proceeding to Hamilton Cemetery for burial. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.
Al was born February 28, 1943 in Hiram, AR to Arbon and Johnnie (Sharpe) Arnold. On April 3, 1964 he married Wilma Stroud and they had two children. Al worked as a machine operator for many years, ending his career at Special Lite in Decatur. In his younger years, Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, and canoeing. He was a past member of the Conservation Club, but he most enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to good music.
Al is survived by his children, Laurie (Mark) Hendrickson, and Bill Arnold; his grandchildren, Brittany Hendrickson, Kristen (Allen Billingham) Hendrickson, and Allyson Arnold; and his siblings, Vonda (Norm) Smith, and Lola (Bruce) Hopson.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; his siblings, Vera West, and Dan Arnold; and his parents.
