Butch's Obituary
July 20, 1940 – November 26, 2024
Isadore Anthony Mammina, known to all as Butch, was called home to the Lord on November 26th at 4:10 a.m., surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 20, 1940, Butch was the son of Tony and Lillian Mammina, owners of Mammina’s Bar in Benton Harbor, MI. A graduate of St. John’s High School, he later attended the University of Miami, FL before completing computer training with IBM Institute, which led to a long and devoted career at Whirlpool Corporation. Butch served as a data processing supervisor at Whirlpool’s Corporate Headquarters for nearly 40 years.
A proud and avid boater, he was a longtime member and Commador of the U.S. Power Squadron in St. Joseph, MI. Butch was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was admired throughout the community for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. He always had time for people—family, friends, and strangers alike. His favorite phrase, “Another day in paradise,” reflected his grateful heart and the joy he found in everyday life. Sincere, humble, and full of warmth, Butch made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He lived life fully and happily, and his deep love for his family and Catholic faith guided him each day.
He married his high school sweetheart, Millie, with whom he raised four children: Anthony, Tim, Vince, and Annette. After Millie’s passing, Butch found love again and married Mary Ellen LoPresti in 2008. Together they shared great joy in their faith and blended family.
Butch is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; his children Anthony (Kelly), Tim, Vince, and Annette Woodfin (Jim); stepchildren Gina Lucker (Dan), Angela Felag (John), Joe LoPresti (Mary), and Jack LoPresti (Bethany); grandchildren Ashley Woodfin (John Silva), Kelsey Woodfin (Cameron Molitor), Sarah Calvetti (Tre) & Iris (Anthony & Kelly); step-grandchildren Ryan and Cara Lucker, Brendan, Stephanie, and Brian Felag, Jack and Mia LoPresti, and Xavier LoPresti; and great-granddaughter Millie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Tony; his first wife, Millie; his sister, Louise LaMantia; and his brother, Ben.
