Caddy's Obituary

Jack Don Goble (a.k.a. Caddy), 87, of Decatur, passed away peacefully in Dimondale, MI on Saturday, January 6, 2024, with his family by his side. Jack was born April 28, 1936 in Decatur, MI to Donald and Lucille Goble.

Jack worked for the post office as a mail carrier for 40+ years. When he wasn’t working, you could often find Jack out fishing or playing golf. But there was nothing Jack treasured more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who have a lot of grandpa stories and memories they like to share. Jack will be remembered as a huge U of M fan – football and basketball being the sports he enjoyed watching most. In his final days, he refused to remove his U of M blanket, lovingly given to him by his grandson. He would have loved watching them win the National Championship. Go Blue!

Jack will be missed by his children, Todd (Marcy) Goble, Brad (Ashley Christoferson) Goble, and Nanci Goble; his grandchildren, Madison Goble, Cameron Goble, Brandon Goble, Haisley Goble, Michael Goble-Six, and a bonus grandchild Hayden Pettit; his sister, Donna (the late Tom) Stambek, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Laskovy; and his parents. A special thank you goes out to Debbie Goble who did so much for Jack and who Jack thought of as a second daughter.

The family will receive guests from 1pm until time of memorial service at 2pm, Friday, January 19, 2024 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur. Interment will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be given to The Care Team Hospice, www.tctcares.com.
