Jack's Obituary

Jack Leon Balliet born February 13, 1940 in Garrett, Indiana to Forrest and Ella (Ross) Balliet passed away at home surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. He was united in marriage on September 10, 1960 to Elizabeth Rodgers.

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth, children: Jacqulyn (Michael) Washegesic, Nancy (Jen)Balliet, Kimberly (Greg) Harris, Terry (Brooke) Balliet, grandchildren Jeremy, Jason, Sarah, Jacob, Jennifer, Mikayla, Riley, Austin, great grandchildren Holden, Dorothy, AmirahKay, Eleanore, Jacob, Gideon and brother, Wayne (Shirley) Balliet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Loretta Ward and Judy Strasser, and brothers Kent Balliet and Gary Balliet.

Jack was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He spent much of his spare time hunting and fishing. He never passed up a time to joke, laugh or play a game of cards. He had a way of making each child and grandchild feel they were his favorite and each was in their own way. He will be missed by many.

Elizabeth and the family would like to thank Angie and Kate of Caring Circle Hospice for their kindness.

Visitation for Jack will be at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, MI, 49090 on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Masonic Service to honor Jack will be after the visitation at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Filbrandt Chapel from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Pastor Mike Pinto will officiate. Jack will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery.
