Jack's Obituary

Jack Louis Phillipi, 77, of Baroda, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. Burial will follow in Hinman Cemetery, Baroda. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, April 19, also at the funeral home. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.swemchapel.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel.

Jack was born on November 21, 1945 to Glen and Betty (Nekvasil) Phillipi in Baroda. He graduated from Lakeshore High School, class of 1963. On June 18, 1966, Jack married the love of his life, Brenda Jane Caruso. Jack and Brenda were rarely apart. Whether it was an auction, Sunday drives or trips to their cabin they did it together for 44 years. Professionally, he worked at Clark Equipment Company for over twenty years. Jack then continued his career with Gast Manufacturing where he served 27 years before retiring. Even after retirement, his strong work ethic always kept him active on his farm, raising cattle, working the fields, tending to his large garden and working on tractors. Jack was also an auction enthusiast. Most of all he loved his family and cherished time spent with them.

Jack is survived by his son, Glen Phillipi; daughters, Jamie Krager and Betsy (Art) Beyer; grandchildren, Dustin Krager, Hannah (Noah Wilcox) Krager, Kyle (Ally) Krager, Kendall (Jr. Ruiz) Beyer, Paxton Beyer, Payton Beyer; sister, Sally Brow and niece, Denise Hoge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Betty Phillipi; beloved wife, Brenda Phillipi; son-in-law, Mark Krager, sister, Jean Hoge and brothers-in-law, James Brow and Ken Hoge.
