Jada Rena Hilkene, 45, of Buchanan, passed away unexpectedly but of natural causes on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
Jada was born on October 26, 1980, in Flagstaff, AZ. She later moved to Michigan, where she graduated from Buchanan High School in 1998, proudly serving in the Buchanan High School band as a drum majorette. She later went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
Professionally, Jada dedicated several years of service to Whirlpool Corporation, as well as Ameritox, putting to use her background in Business Administration. In addition, she embraced an entrepreneurial spirit, launching several of her own business ventures over the years. Jada will be remembered for her gentle nature and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh that could brighten any room. Deeply genuine and creative, Jada had a way of making people feel comfortable. To know her was to love her.
Jada shared an especially close bond with her mother, Paula, built on friendship, love, and constant laughter. Together, they found joy in the simplest moments, always cherishing their time side by side. Jada inherited her mom's sense of humor - which was one of her most memorable qualities. Any serious moment could be easily spoiled with a sideways glance that would instantly dissolve into belly laughs. Jada was lucky to have met her fiancé, David, and built a special bond with him. He was her rock, and they kept each other laughing every day.
Jada was truly a kind and loving soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jada is survived by her fiancé, David Oxender; father, John Harrington; step-sister, Brittany (Josh) DeMeulenaere and family; step-brother, Justin (Kelly) Harrington and family and future step-daughter, Heaven Oxender. She was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Harrington on January 19, 2026.
