James “Jim” Doroh, 91, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at White Oaks Assisted Living in Lawton, MI. He was born March 30, 1932 in Buchanan, MI to Henry and Frances (Vanderse) Doroh.
Jim was a quintessential family man. There was nothing he enjoyed more than helping out his family and friends with any and every project. Jim will be remembered fondly by his family for always being at their beck and call, whether it was a home improvement project, or simply a sweet treat delivery. Jim was known to take walks and remaining busy, even in his last days, he would be up walking the halls, often at night.
Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years, Loretta (Makay) Doroh, whom he married on December 1, 1966 in Langhorne, PA; his children, Jeff (Brenda) Doroh, Kevin (Tina) Doroh, Kathleen (Bob) Hickman, Laura (Rodney) Bailes, and Mark (Sandy) Doroh; his grandchildren, Dustin (Heather) Doroh, Cory (Kaleigh) Doroh, Troy (Emma) Doroh, Alissa Doroh, Kyle Doroh, Scott Bailey, Curtis (Samantha) Bailes, Craig Bailes, Sara Bailes, Brady Doroh, Sydney Doroh, Kevin (Elizabeth) Hickman, Brian Hickman, and Adam Hickman; several great grandchildren; and his siblings, Robert Doroh, and Barbara McGuire.
He is preceded in death by his son, Joe Vohn; his siblings, Eugene Doroh, Virginia Name, Marjorie Robinson, and George Doroh; and his parents.
Cremation services will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
