James K. “Jim” Dahlstrom 85, of St. Joseph passed away at Corewell Lakeland Hospital on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel with Rev. Jeffery Huber officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with military Honors by Stevensville American Legion. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, from 12:00PM- 1:00 PM with the service following directly after, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Jim was born on July 11, 1940, in St. Joseph, to Edwin and Viola (Kuhn) Dahlstrom. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and went on to attend Elmhurst College. On January 11, 1965, Jim entered the United States Navy, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge on July 22, 1969.

Jim spent 11 years working for the Lansing State Journal before returning to St. Joseph, where he was employed by the Herald-Palladium for 28 years until his retirement. A devoted sports fan, Jim was a lifelong and diehard supporter of the Detroit Lions.

He is survived by his stepson Larry (Carla) Morrow and family; and his close ‘family’ at the South Bend Chocolate Café in downtown St. Joseph.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Dahlstrom and his trusted companion, Augie.
