James Robert Owca, 73, of Gaffney, S.C., formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on October 11, 2021.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Inurnment will take place at 2pm, also on Saturday, in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Joseph with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Jim was the son of Adam and Elsie Owca, and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1966. He honorably served his Country in the Marine Core, then reserves from 1966-1975.
Jim is survived by two sons, Scott (Christy) Owca of North Carolina and Robert Owca of Florida; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a sister, Ruth Ann Owca; and special friend, Sherrie Baginske. His parents and a brother, Billy preceded him in death.
