Jamie Elizabeth Bartelheim, 51, of New Buffalo, passed away in Plymouth, IN, on Wednesday – March 26, 2025. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Jamie was born on May 4, 1973 in Valparaiso, IN, to William and Connie Leasure.
Jamie was employed as a teacher at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic School and also at the New Buffalo Public School system. She loved teaching; enjoyed baking all kinds of goodies – candies, cookies, cupcakes, wedding cakes; was a very stylish lady; and was affectionately known as Mimi by her grandsons. She was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Jamie is survived by her children – Shelbey (Zak Ratko) Leasure-Bartelheim of Troy, MO, and Zachary (Erika) Bartelheim of New Buffalo, MI; grandchildren – Keller Kares and Weston Bartelheim; her mother and stepfather – Connie (Jerry) Kesler of Plymouth, IN; Jamie’s significant other – Jack Jent; sisters – Shelli (Butch) Shreve and Billie Leasure; step-brother – Michael Kalember and step-sister – Amanda Kesler; and father of her children Bryan Bartelheim. She is preceded in death by her father – William Leasure.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday – March 30, 4:00, at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Visitation with the family precedes the service from 2:00-4:00pm at the funeral home.
