She is preceded in death by her first husband Bill Hays then also husband, Cloise “Curly” P. Johnson; her parents, Thomas H. Parrish and Katherine H. (Burbach) Parrish; and her brother, Roger Parrish.
Jan attended and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1954, where she participated in the marching band as a drummer. After graduating, Jan worked for her parent’s business at Parrish Equipment and Supply in Benton Harbor, Michigan for 40+ years. In her early life, Jan married and had a son and daughter with her first husband, Bill Hays. Later on in life, Jan married Cloise “Curly” Johnson on November 17th, 1972 at Peace Temple United Methodist Church in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Jan and Curly spent 46 years together where they resided in Coloma and South Haven, Michigan, as well as Boca Raton, Florida during winters for 23 years soaking up the sun, playing cards, and socializing, where they also loved attending “Michigan Day”. Jan was a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Jan loved to spend time with her loved ones, shopping, cooking, baking, dancing with her favorite partner Curly, watching her daily shows, tending to her flowers, gardening, and eating out at her favorite restaurants with her friends and family.
Out of the many things that Jan loved, which was a lot, her greatest joy was knowing she would be a great-grandmother for the first time. Jeanette will be dearly missed and we will cherish all her love and memories.
