Jeffery A. Kroening, 69, of St. Joseph, passed away, Thursday, February 12, 2026 at his home.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at 1 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with a service following at 1:30 pm. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorial donations in Jeff’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs or Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Jeff was born April 11, 1956, in Kalamazoo to Herbert Sr. & Donna Kroening. After moving to Benton Harbor, he graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1974. Jeff worked for many years in the fast-food industry at the local Arby’s and Burger King restaurants. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs where he was long time member and also attended Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Jeff loved sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, Lions & Pistons & The University of Michigan Wolverines. He never turned down an invitation to go out to eat, enjoyed listening to music and watching movies. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jeff is survived by his five siblings-Herbert A. (Debbie) Kroening, Jr., Cynthia S. Marske, Marc L. (Sandy) Kroening, Todd B. Kroening, Amy J. (Patrick) Batcheller; and nieces & nephew-Sarah Keith & Melissa. He was preceded in death by his parents-Herbert Sr. & Donna Kroening, and his brother-in-law David Marske.
