Jerry's Obituary
Jerry D. Johnson, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1948, to Harvey and Mildred (Stone) Johnson in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
A memorial gathering for Jerry will take place from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel (2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, Michigan) on Friday, March 7, 2025, with military Rites for Jerry will take place at 4:30 pm. For a more lasting memory donations in Jerry’s name can be made out to either American Kidney Fund or to the family.
Jerry graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966 and then enlisted into the United States Army. After his service Jerry worked at Gast Manufacturing Corporation for 30 years. He also worked for Pinkerton Security on the weekends. In retirement Jerry loved spending time with his family. He loved going to the races with his brother, Chuck, and collecting his mustang model cars. He also loved spending time outdoors.
Jerry is survived by his three daughters, Tesha (Rob) Atkins, Jennifer (Jerry) Baskin, Chandra (Phil) Fenrick; grandchildren, Deryk and Devyn Atkins, Landon and Cody Baskin, Wesley, Samual, and Allison Fenrick; great-grandchild, Sylas Atkins; sister, Cheryl (Jim) Christensen; brother, Chuck Johnson; niece, Christina (Rob) Sauder; nephew, Jason (Gwen) Christensen. He was preceded in death by his parents: and brother, Ronny Johnson.
