Jerry's Obituary
Jerome “Jerry” Price, of Cassopolis passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, after a difficult battle with cancer, at the age of 75. Jerry was born on January 31, 1950, in Urbana, Il. He is survived by his wife - Dorothy (Kusmack) Price; brother – Douglas (Hyong Mi) Price; sister – Caroline Price; sister – in – law – Josephine Pape and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 18, at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 A.M.. Memorials may be made to Marie Yeager Cancer Center, Hidden Acres Safe Haven or Cass County Animal Control. Jerry graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1969. He furthered his education at Western Michigan University and graduated in 1974. Jerry married the love of his life, Dorothy Sue Kusmack, on July 1, 1972 in Decatur. They spent 53 beautiful years together traveling and going on adventures and adopting and loving their cats.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents – Charles and Mary (Vanderburg) Price.
Jerry worked for multiple companies including – Central Indiana Hardware, Sundstrand, Georgie Boy Manufacturing and Penske.
Jerry cherished the time spent with his wife, family and friends. He loved meeting new people and often struck up conversations with them especially, those travelling on old motorcyles. Jerry was passionate about motorcycling including, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Jerry and Dorothy loved camping all over the country especially, Yellowstone, South Dakota and the Black Hills, and Canada. Jerry took an interest in old highways and he and Dorothy explored old Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway several times. He was a zealous historian and was fond of civil war reenactments. Jerry was always learning new things and took up writing and posting science fiction stories online in recent years. He will be dearly missed
