Joan's Obituary
Joan Nozicka passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Lighthouse Assisted Living in Bangor, Michigan.
Visitation with Joan’s family will take place on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel (2650 Niles Rd.) with a celebration of life service to be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Martin Measel officiating. Burial to follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Lincoln Township.
Joan was born on May 10, 1934, in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Albert and Adeline Holtz. She is survived by her son, Greg (Karen) Nozicka; daughter, Rena Umlor; and grandchildren, Jaden (Molly) Nozicka, and Rachel Nozicka.
On July 27, 1968, Joan married Matthew Nozicka. She taught piano and organ lessons for many years. Joan truly enjoyed music. She was the director and arranger of music groups including the Misfits and the Dreamers at the Lincoln Senior Center of St. Joseph. Joan also enjoyed bowling with some 200 games and 600 series trophies.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband; as well as her parents; and sister, Elaine Cerny.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Stevensville or to the St. Joseph/Lincoln Senior Center.
