Jody's Obituary
Jody was born on July 25, 1964, in Dowagiac, to Robert and Norma (Glass) Jessup. A proud graduate of Dowagiac Union High School, Class of 1983, she went on to pursue an education in fashion merchandising—something that would remain a signature part of who she was. Jody had a truly eclectic sense of style, always expressing herself with creativity.
On December 10, 1988, she married the love of her life, Randall “Randy” Corey. Together, they built a life centered on their beautiful family, sharing 37 years of marriage.
Jody dedicated much of her career to the banking industry, spending over 20 years with Huntington Bank. In 2019, she joined G.W. Jones Bank, where she quickly became a cherished member of the team. She genuinely loved her work family and formed many lasting friendships with both coworkers and members of the community she served.
Outside of work, Jody was a loyal fan of Dowagiac High School football and University of Michigan football, always cheering on her teams with enthusiasm. She had a love for thrifting and shopping, always on the hunt for something unique—just like her.
Above all else, Jody’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, a proud and loving mother, and a deeply cherished grandmother. She took immense pride in the daughters she raised and treasured every moment spent with them and her granddaughter.
Jody is survived by her beloved husband, Randy Corey; her daughters, Megan Corey and Erin (Scott Bass) Corey; and her precious granddaughter, Mae Davis. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles (Kathryn) Jessup and Bryan (Kathleen) Jessup; her nieces and nephews, Chuckie (Sherri) Jessup, Tyrone (Jennifer) Jessup, Sara (Kate Crane) Jessup, Meredith Jessup, David (Whitney) Jessup, and Matthew (Kristy Aho) Jessup; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carolyn Jessup; and her longtime friend, Margie Crouch.
Jody will be remembered for her kind heart, her unique spirit, and the deep love she had for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
