Bill's Obituary

John W. “Bill” Clark, 84, of Galien, passed away at home on Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by his family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan with Rev. Cynthia L. Veilleux. Private burial will take place at Galien Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 24, also at the funeral home.

Bill was born July 2, 1941, to Ray and Dorothea (Kuhl) Clark in Galien. He graduated from Galien High School in 1959 and attended Michigan State University. On May 1, 1965, he married the love of his life, Joyce Unruh in Baroda.

A lifelong farmer, Bill owned an operated Clay Crest Farm in Galien, where he focused on Dairy and Beef production. He enjoyed working outdoors, especially bailing hay, and remained busy with various hands-on projects. Bill was a longtime supporter of the Berrien County Youth Fair and was honored with “Friend of the Fair Award” for his dedication and support.

He enjoyed collecting Cub Cadet tractors and toy Farmall tractors. Bill was a passionate Michigan State Basketball fan, rarely missing a game. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandsons, and took great pride in supporting them in their pursuits. Bill will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce; daughter, Kathleen (Roger) Hasse; grandsons, Andrew Pastryk, Alec Pastryk and William Hasse; brother, Bud (Bo) Clark and sister, Martha (Duane) Stineback. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Dorothea Clark; son, Doug Clark and sister, Laura Mae Magnuson.
