Jose Guadalupe Ledezma, 84 años, nació en Montemorelos, Nuevo León, México, falleció en casa después de una larga batalla contra el cáncer el 1 de julio de 2025.

Nació el 17 de febrero de 1941 y creció jugando béisbol, viendo películas de vaqueros, y leyendo libros. Conoció al amor de su vida, su vecina Maria Lucrecia Ledezma Amador, cuando tenía veintitrés años y después de cortejar durante tres meses, decidieron casarse. Después de tener hijos y enfrentar muchas dificultades, emigró solo a los Estados Unidos.

A pesar de las dificultades, trabajó duro para mantener a su familia en México hasta que pudo traerlos a los Estados Unidos. Era un trabajador y estaba orgulloso de lo trabajador que era. En sus últimos años se negó a retirarse, pero cuando lo hizo, continuó activo sin importar las circunstancias. Disfrutaba viendo boxeo, vistiéndose para ir a la iglesia los domingos, largos viajes por carreteras secundarias y sentado afuera disfrutando de la naturaleza. Le encantaba hacer chistes, ayudar a la gente necesitada, usar botas de vaquero y sombreros y visitar México para ver a su familia. Adoraba a sus hijos y nietos y siempre se esforzaba por pasar tiempo con ellos. Amaba y cuidaba a todos y muchos lo veían como una figura paterna. Sus comidas favoritas eran el menudo, los tamales, el pan de plátano y las costillas. Él era cariñoso, amable, amoroso y un padre, abuelo y esposo increíble.

Para atesorar la memoria de José quedan su esposa María; sus hijos Martina, Blanca, Reynaldo, Raquel y Damariz; 15 nietos; 10 bisnietos; y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos. Siempre será recordado por su cariño, humor, amor por su familia y siempre tendrá un lugar en nuestros corazones.

Jose Guadalupe Ledezma, 84 years old, was born in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, México, passed away at home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a hard-fought battle with cancer on July 1st, 2025.

He was born on February 17th 1941 and grew up playing baseball, watching western movies, and reading books. He met the love of his life, his neighbor Maria Lucrecia Ledezma Amador, when he was twenty-three and after courting for 3 months, they decided to get married. After having their kids and facing many hardships, he migrated to the United States on his own.

Despite struggling, he worked hard to provide for his family back in Mexico until he was able to bring them to the states. He was a laborer and took pride in how hardworking he was. In his later years, he refused to retire, but when he did, he continued to stay active no matter the circumstances. He enjoyed watching boxing, dressing up for church on Sundays, long drives through back roads, and sitting outside enjoying nature. He loved cracking jokes, helping people in need, wearing cowboy boots and sombreros, and visiting Mexico to see his family. He adored his kids and grandkids and always made it a point to spend time with them. He loved and cared for everyone and many saw him as a father figure. His favorite foods were menudo, tamales, banana bread, and ribs. He was loving, kind, resilient, and an amazing father, grandfather, and husband.

Remaining to cherish Jose’s memory is his wife, Maria; his children, Martina, Blanca, Reynaldo, Raquel, and Damariz; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He will always be remembered for his caringness, humor, love for his family and will always have a place in our hearts.
