Jose's Obituary
Jose R. Turanzas passed away in his long time home in Casco with family by his side.
Jose is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane, his sisters Santa and Margarita, daughters, Queta and Jennifer, sons, Joe, Miguel, Edward and his wife Candice.
Jose was born in Teran, Nuevo Leon Mexico on March 19th 1933. From a young age Jose was always ready for an adventure, he worked many jobs but his passion was baseball/ Jose played Semi-pro baseball in Monterrey Which took him through the country of Mexico.
In 1956 Jose moved to Chicago, Illinios because they had two baseball teams. He also adored music so being in Chicago was thrilling to him.
Jose was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957 where he spent the next two years loading and unloading ships in New Orleans and Newfoundland Canada. After the Army, Jose made his way to the Bangor, Michigan area where he could be close to family.
Jose worked for Everett Piano factory starting in 1960 through it closing in 1986. Jose met his soulmate, Diane, at Everettand they married on January 28th 1972.
Jose stayed very active in sports playing softball, bowling, and especially golf. Jose was always generous with his time, he couched little league baseball, and later in life he mentored at risk youth. Jose retired after working at Haworth for ten years 1996.
Jose won three senior club championships at Cheshire Hills Golf Course in his retirement, and he made lots of friends on the course. Jose loved art, he painted and welded lots of sculptures to decorate his beautiful flower gardens.
A Memorial Service will be held at Casco United Methodist Church on March 16th, 2024 with Visitation at 10 A.M. and Service at 11 A.M.
