Joseph R. Bovo, 68, of St. Joseph, passed away early Sunday morning, June 29, 2025 surrounded by his family at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Nile Rd, Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, where friends may visit with his family from 10:00am until the time of service. Joe was born on December 9, 1956, in Benton Harbor, MI, the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Grumbir) Bovo.

Joe was a high school graduate from Benton Harbor High School. After High School he became a Bondsman for the family business, Bovo Bail Bonding. In his later years he opened his own business called 0-1 Bail Bonding. Joe enjoyed golfing in a men’s league at Lake Michigan Country Club. In his prime he enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheelers and his classic cars. He had a soft spot for his two daughters; he just loved being a “girl” Dad. Later in his life he was excited to welcome a “boy” to his family. Joe will be missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his three children, Jennifer (Chad) Higdon-Bovo, Tonya (Carl) Adomaitis, and Jospeh Bovo; grandchildren, Zoie, Natalee, Nova, and Nyla; three siblings, Michael (Patrice) Bovo, Christine (Kirk) Duncombe, and Tom (Renee) Bovo; longtime companion, Janie Anthony; former spouse, Kelly Slosson; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Carmen Bovo; and grandson, Carter.
