Josephine M. Garrison, 98, of Saint Joseph, passed away peacefully, with her youngest daughter by her side, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at her home in Saint Joseph.

The family will receive guests from 12pm until the time of celebration of life service at 1pm, Friday, June 28, 2024 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., Saint Joseph. Interment will be held privately. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for the family may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Josephine, who went by "Jo" born January 14, 1926 was born in Berwyn, IL to Michael and Anna Filush (Krejci). She was the youngest of their four children. Jo graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1941, where she met Harold "Bob" Garrison. They married in 1945 after his return from WWII. Together they had six children. Jo worked in hospitality, food service, and was a Michigan Bell switchboard operator after high school. Most of her enjoyment came from raising a family, keeping a job outside of the home, sunsets at the beach, bowling, watching the Cubs, going to the casino, her years with her dog, but most importantly, time with friends.

Jo is survived by her daughters, Roxanne Merlino, and Sheri-Jo Garrison; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Garrison; her children, Robert Garrison, Barbara Thar, Helyn Ott, and Mark Garrison; her siblings, James Filush, Michael Filush, and Helen LoFranco; and her granddaughter, Michelle Merlino.
