Judi's Obituary
Judi M. Gravitter, age 67, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 in Kalamazoo.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 am at The Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur, MI 49045. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow at Decatur VFW Post 6248. Memorial contributions in Judi’s memory may be directed to Decatur VFW Post 6248. Judi was born on May 14, 1958 to John and Clara (Cerven) Dragan in Paw Paw, MI. Judi married Rodney B. Gravitter on July 20, 1984 at The Chapel of the Bells in Las Vegas, NV. They celebrated 32 wonderful years of marriage until Rodney’s passing in 2017. Judi had colorful careers, working in several different fields across the United States until returning back to Decatur where she retired.
Judi had the most vibrant smile and brought joy wherever she went. She always knew how to have a good time, whether she was on the beach collecting shells, sipping a cold one, testing her luck at the casino, or singing along to Toby Keith. Judi loved her family, circle of friends, and laughing until tears rolled down her cheeks.
She was a lifelong member at the VFW and most proud of her son Rodney.
Thoughtful at heart, Judi will also be remembered for her ability to make others feel loved. She never missed sending a birthday card.
Judi is survived by her son, Rodney (Brittany) Gravitter; stepdaughter, Stephanie (Jim) Mulcah; grandchildren, Rylee, Sam, and Lexi Gravitter; and siblings, Susie Kietzer and Mike Dragan. Along with her husband, Rodney, Judi was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Dragan, parents, and stepson, Todd Gravitter.
Her friends and family are forever grateful for the love and joy she brought into their lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
