Kelly's Obituary
She was born on December 16, 1971, in Saint Joseph, MI, the daughter of Judith and Thomas Weldy. Growing up on the Vanderhoof Centennial Farm in Hamilton Township, Kelly graduated from Hartford High School in 1990. She began her over 20-year career in healthcare working at Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw and Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. In 2016, she began working for Cass County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher, where she continued her employment, where she was affectionately known as the “Dispatch Mom”. She was also a 23-year volunteer on the Decatur-Hamilton QR (Quick Response) Team. On October 29, 2005, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Joseph Jerue. They enjoyed traveling and spending time at their cabin in Moran, MI. Kelly had the “gift of gab” and would carry a conversation with anyone. She loved animals and the many pets she owned over the years.
Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Joe Jerue; daughter, Mikaela (Alex Lawson) Jerue; siblings, Kimberley Weldy, Lonna (Lucky Glasgow) Adams, Raymond (Valerie Elliott) Adams, and Pamela Adams; father-in-law, Jack (Lori) Jerue; sisters-in-law, Stephanie (James) Elder, Andrea (Jacob Smith) Smiltneek, and Amy (Ronald) Conery; second mom, Bonney Meachum; and close friend, David (Ellie) Nevins.
