Kevin Troy Turlin(a.k.a. Joe), born on May 10, 1969, in Houston, Texas passed away unexpectedly at home in Benton Harbor, Michigan on May 26, 2025.
He was the beloved son of Roberta Turlin and the late Michael Turlin. Kevin is survived by his mother, Roberta Turlin, his sister, Kimberly McLaren, his 2 daughters Jazmin and Mikae'l Turlin and 3 grandchildren whom he adored, Zae'lyn Troy Turlin, Aviana Grace Turlin and Lae'lani Mae Turlin.
Kevin was one of a kind. Kevin loved his people deeply, and he was the best friend you could ever have. Once he was in your corner, you were never alone. He was a lover of the great outdoors, fishing, animals, motorcycles (especially Harley Davidson), a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, never forgetting to support the Miami Dolphins as well.
He attended Coloma High School. He found a love for trees and kept a small business running, always.
Kevin put his all into becoming the father that he wanted to be for Jazmin and Mikae'l. He was witty, adventurous, authentic, protective, and loyal, oftentimes giving the shirt off his back, quite literally.
He had an infectious laugh, knew how to make the best out of any situation and he was always willing to lend a smile to someone in need. Kevin was genuine and placed a premium on being real. Knowing Kevin, you knew he struggled with mental health and pain. He put a band-aid on those wounds and fought addiction, changing his life around and spending all the time he could with his children and grandchildren.
His family mourns the loss of him and so many missed opportunities.
Kevin touched an extravagant number of hearts and will truly be missed by so many people; he will never be forgotten.
