Leon's Obituary
Leon is survived by his daughters; Laura (Adam) Rench and Carol (Michael) Aleman, grandchildren; Autumn, Benjamin, Noelle, Brielyn and Alivia. He is also survived by siblings; Sandy Rogers and William (Linda) Rogers.
Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Elizabeth Rogers and his wife of 46 years Frances Rogers, brothers Donald Rogers Jr and James Rogers and his sister Mary Weist.
Leon spent his entire working life proudly serving our country in the U.S. Air Force as a Munitions Specialist. Leon enlisted right out of High School and spent the next 40 years in the Air Force. Leon served in the Vietnam War, and he travelled the world serving his country His favorite deployment was in Aviano Italy. Leon met and married Frances and together they raised two daughters and built a beautiful home. When not working, Leon was a quiet man, always busy doing something. He loved woodworking and building projects. Leon also enjoyed helping his brother at his Auto body shop. Leon enjoyed gardening with his wife and children also canning vegetables from their garden. , Leon had an extensive M&M collection that he loved and treasured. He could tell you everything about every aircraft he touched. He was truly passionate about planes. In his later years he very much enjoyed his favorite show NCIS.The most important thing to Leon was his family and his grandchildren. He always said “I love their little hugs .” He attended every birthday party, concert, and event the grandkids had and loved every moment of being a grandfather.
A Visitation for Leon will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan, 49090. Cremation will follow and Leon will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, Michigan, 49012 on Wednesday March 4, 2026 at 3 p.m.
