Lois's Obituary
Lois Jean Thomas, 72, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away at her home on Friday – May 2, 2025. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
Lois was born in Martinsville, IN on November 11, 1952 to the late Charles and Gladys (Witmer) Haarer.
On June 2, 2000 in Goshen, IN, she married Allen Russell Thomas.
Lois is survived by her husband Allen; children – Courtney, Clarissa and Zachery; and siblings – Stan, Gary, Charles, Esther, Rachel, Mark and Janet. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother – Ron.
Lois had a career for 20+ years as a family therapist, in both Indiana and Michigan. She also loved writing and was a published author of eleven books as well as three children’s books and several short stories. She also had artistic talents – she painted in oils and also created sculptures.
Lois’s family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
