Lorraine's Obituary

Lorraine L. Gearin, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away, Monday, April 28, 2025, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday May 1, 2025, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Cremation will follow. Lorraine was born October 12, 1948 in Benton Harbor to George & Ethel Keene. She married Roger J. Gearin, and they cared for and raised their 7 children. In addition, she was a home health care aide and also worked in the housekeeping department at Four Winds Casino New Buffalo.

Lorraine’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was also a passionate thrift shopper who frequented local garage sales and kept busy traveling to casinos and car shows.

Lorraine is survived by her companion - David Carpenter of Sawyer; children – Salvator (Janice) Manzella of Scio, Ohio, David Manzella of Missouri, Michelle Manzella of Baroda,and Crystal Woodburn, Cassie (Joe) Hattfield and Roger J. Gearin II all of Carrollton, Ohio; 16 granchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings – Roger (Dora Adams) Bettig of Stevensville and Dian Brown of South Haven; and many step-siblings and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ethel (Bettig) Keene; her husband Roger Gerin in 1999 her daughter Pam manzella in 1987; and brother – Joseph Keene.
