Lottie's Obituary
She was born on May 2nd, 1933, the daughter of the late Virtnater “Birt” Brown and Willie Steve Drake, in Nashville, Tennessee. Ever growing, throughout her life’s journey, into a caring, strong-willed, independent woman. Yet, she remained grounded and compassionate by holding fast to her faith, having accepted Christ at a young age, as exhibited through her support of family, others, and serving as an usher at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.
In 1965, Lottie and her husband, JT, along with three children at the time, built a “farm home” with the help of family and friends on C.R. 380 in Bangor, Michigan. She raised their 4 children, enjoyed raising various animals, and had a family garden that was enjoyed by all. She was a general laborer with an endless passion for gaining knowledge, insight, & wisdom from anyone whose path she crossed. A trait passed along. She will be deeply missed.
She held several jobs throughout her long life, with notable ones being Du-Wel, S.E. Overton Company, and Coca-Cola Minute Maid in Paw Paw, MI, from which she retired. Additionally, she volunteered as a Cub Scout den mother and auxiliary police security guard for town functions, among other roles.
Treasuring the life memories of her are forever loving; Sister – Mary (Larry) Poindexter; Children- Wendell (Lidia) Whitmore, Gwynn Whitmore, JT (Kim) Whitmore Jr., and Mark (Shielisa) Whitmore; Grandchildren- Caleb, Marcus, Nekima, Avonna, Marco, Sydney, Jordan; Great Grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
