Loudean's Obituary

Loudean Steininger, age 85, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022 at Woodland Terrace in Niles, Michigan. She was born on August 18, 1937 in Bonham, Texas to Hazel and Forrest Hyepock. Loudean was a resident of Buchanan, Michigan and a 1956 graduate of Buchanan High School. She moved to Bonita Springs, Florida upon her retirement in 1999. She married Eugene (Gene) Steininger in 1957 in Angola, Indiana. They were married for 61 years.

She worked for the City of Buchanan as an Administrative Assistant in the Water Department utilizing her exceptional customer service skills.

Loudean was a very friendly, compassionate and creative person who loved to laugh. Her family, travel, ceramics, sewing and painting were her biggest passions. Loudean enjoyed her time as a Girl Scout leader and was a member of the Buchanan Garden Club.

Loudean is survived by her brother, James (Donna) Hyepock; her daughter, Deanna (Mike) Fortier; grandchildren, Stephen Steininger, Lynsey (Anthony) Bassett, Katie Kvietkus; great-grandson Jaxon; niece Tara (Randy) Hagen and nephew Jason Hyepock.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gene; parents, Forest and Hazel Hyepock and her son, Stephen Steininger.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front Street, Buchanan, Michigan on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will proceed the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery privately at a later date.
