Manuela's Obituary

Manuela F. Garza, 90, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Decatur.

The family will receive guests from 1pm until time of rosary service at 3pm, Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur. A prayer service will take place at 11am, Monday, February 14, 2022 at the funeral home, proceeding to Lakeside cemetery for burial. Memorial contributions may be given to Centrica Care Navigators (Hospice), 7100 Stadium Dr., Kalamazoo, MI 49009.

Manuela was born November 26th, 1931 in Pleasanton, TX to Delfino and Manuela (Gomez) Flores. She met Felipe Garza (late husband of 69 years) in San Antonio, they were married on November 7th, 1951. She had their first 4 of 5 children in San Antonio before employment led them to Decatur Michigan where Manuela gave birth to her fifth and final child. Manuela had a love for baseball especially the Detroit Tigers, she also enjoyed gardening and music but most of all she enjoyed caring for her children and creating fond memories with her family. Her family was truly the pride and joy of her life.

Manuela is survived by her children, Helen (the late Burr) Tolles, Phil Garza, Daniel (the late Vicenta) Garza, Francisco “Frank” (Darla) Garza, and Pattie (Tom) Liebl; her grandchildren, Burr Tolles, III, Dawn Maes, Philip Michael Garza, Alyssa Williamson, Steven Liebl, Brenda Liebl, Seattle Garza, Elizabeth Garza, Grace Liebl, Kimberly Liebl, Alex Garza, and Brayden Avery; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great, great grandchildren; and her siblings, Susie Teneries, Connie Villanueva, and Rosalinda Flores.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Felipe; her siblings, Delfino Flores, Raymond Flores, and Orie Chavez; and her parents.
