Marc's Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Tonnie Blackamore officiating. Please no formal clothing, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite sportswear, preferably University of Michigan. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville with military rites conducted by Stevensville American Legion Post #568. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Marc’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Marc was born July 7, 1949 in Benton Harbor to Robert & Madelyn “Peg” Jeffery. He graduated from Lakeshore High School, Class of 1967, and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving four years during the Vietnam War. On December 12, 1969, Marc married his high school sweetheart-Nancy Hendrix at St. Peter’s UCC in St. Joseph. Marc’s working career consisted of forty-five years as a machinist at LECO Corp in St. Joseph, retiring in 2018. Marc was an avid University of Michigan football fan. He cherished the many times he was able to attend a game at “The Big House”. In his earlier days, he was an avid golfer and bowler and worked part time at Gersonde’s Bowling Alley. Marc also enjoyed the burger nights and steak fries at Stevensville American Legion with Nancy, and watching Westerns on television. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Marc is survived by his wife Nancy; his children-Pamela (James) Gohn of Cassopolis, Randy (Kara) Jeffery of Stevensville; four grandchildren-Rachel (Justin) Thurman, David (Morgan Beilman) Sexton, Robbie & Andy Jeffery; his great-grandson Aiden Thurman; his brother Kim Jeffery of St. Joseph; two sisters-in-law-Melanee (Steve) Mangold & Diana (Gerry) Nash; and several nieces & nephews. Marc was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Peg, and his sister-in-law Robin Jeffery.
